Overview

Amber Wheeler is an Associate in our Madison, MS office, where her practice focuses on general litigation and insurance defense, including personal injury, automobile and trucking liability, and premises liability.

Prior to joining the firm, Amber gained experience at a Mississippi civil defense firm, where she handled insurance defense, workers’ compensation, and personal injury matters. She also brings valuable judicial experience, having served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable David N. McCarty at the Mississippi Court of Appeals and to circuit judges in the Eighth District Circuit Court.

Amber graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2017, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English. She earned her J.D. from Mississippi College, School of Law in 2020, where she served as Articles Editor for the Mississippi College Law Review and received American Jurisprudence Awards in Legal Research and Torts. Her article, “RLUIPA’s Equal Terms Clause and the Circuit Split: Striking a Balance Between Economic Concerns and Protecting Religious Liberty,” was published in Volume 38 of the Mississippi College Law Review. During law school, she also externed with the Honorable Sean Tindell at the Mississippi Court of Appeals and with the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission.

Amber is admitted to practice in all Mississippi state courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. She is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, Capital Area Bar Association, Jackson Young Lawyers, and the Mississippi Women Lawyers Association.
